Planning Well for Retirement

Show Notes

Are you planning on retiring some day? Maybe in twenty years, or maybe in two?  Before you do, here are some questions that may be worthy of asking yourself.  On this Moneywise, Rob West and Steve Moore will examine some reasons for retirement. And golf and bass fishing aren’t really what we’re thinking about.

Next, they answer your questions at (800) 525-7000 and questions@moneywise.org about the following:

  • If you've built $50,000 in equity and need to do some repairs around the house, should you refinance to get the cash out or get a HELOC to finance the repairs?
  • If you have extra money in your savings but the interest is nearly 0%, is there a better place to put this money?
  • If you're getting married soon and have a small but paid one-bedroom condo and a friend is offering his two bedroom condo at an exceptional price but in a hurry, is there a way to accomplish this?
  • What is a back-door Roth IRA and when is it a good idea?
